The Position: Analyst intern (January 2019)

As an analyst at De Charles you will work to build a thorough understand of our clients’ businesses, to shape the team’s market view and delivered advice. As part of a small and multidisciplinary team you will be expected to function broadly and be a part of furthering clients’ growth in both communications (called “narratives”) and product development engagements.

The Contribution

During the internship, you will play a meaningful role in helping De Charles build products, narratives and ideas for a new generation of Africa-focused companies. Your contribution will include:

  • providing general research support to the team, helping them develop deliverables and proposals for clients;
  • using information from your work, critical thinking and broader experience to contribute to client advice;
  • using creative problem-solving skills In early-stage projects to help unearth insights that aid ideation;
  • additions to the internal thinking and marketing efforts of a growing consultancy;
  • Helping the team develop impactful themes and messaging to enhance our clients’ communications and brand strategies.

 

You Are

Someone who is taking the initiative to influence your own development in the burgeoning technology and Africa-focused spaces. You’re looking to contribute broadly to, and learn quickly within a growing company, which will give you the opportunity to pursue your interests across functions and geographies. You do not see a job title as the final definition of who you are, but the starting point. You bring to a team the following competencies:

  • an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for Africa’s growth;
  • solid problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, inquisitiveness, initiative and a creative mind;
  • a growing awareness of behavior, technology, and business trends globally and in Africa;
  • an ability/willingness to work in cross-functional teams, and an appreciation for technology, design, and business innovation  
  • Current enrollment in a graduate programme MSc/MA/MBA, and an ability to dedicate at least two days a week to the internship.

 

Location & details

This position will require you to work for up to two days a week at our central London office in Holborn, for which your reasonable costs will be covered (usually travel and lunch). This position will last for three months, starting in early January and finishing at the end of March 2019.
